What we store, and where

Your stage, logged sessions, and self-test history live in your browser's local storage on your device. The app works entirely from there, even offline.

When you save your progress with your first name and email (the last step of onboarding), we also keep a copy of that ladder (first name, email, stage, sessions, and test history) on our server, keyed to your email. That copy exists for exactly one reason: so a sign-in link can put your progress on any device, and so it survives a cleared browser. No password, no account profile, nothing else.

Your device also keeps a masked reminder of which address you used, like m••••@gmail.com, so that if you ever need a new sign-in link we can show you which account this device belongs to. It is a hint, not the address: your full email is never stored in your browser, and the masked form is the same length whoever you are. Resetting your progress on the device removes it.

Email

Your address and first name go to Loops, our email provider, along with the training stage you signed up at. We send occasional training emails; every one includes an unsubscribe link. Sign-in links are delivered by Resend, our transactional email provider; those are one-time links that expire after 7 days.

The training emails record whether you opened them and which links you clicked, using an invisible image and links that pass through Loops on the way to their destination. That tells us which coaching cues are worth sending and which ones nobody reads. Unsubscribing stops it, and the sign-in emails are plain text with no tracking in them at all.

Deleting your data

Settings → "Delete my cloud data" erases the server copy of your progress and removes you from the email list. Your local progress stays on your device. "Reset my progress" wipes this device. For anything else, email us and we'll delete whatever remains.

Analytics

We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers. On the site we see aggregate numbers (visits, how many people pass a stage), never who you are or your individual training history.

What we never do

No ads, no selling data, no advertising or cross-site trackers, no dark patterns. Nothing we collect follows you around the rest of the web. This site is made by the coach behind trainperennial.com. The business model is that some of you will eventually want more coaching, not your data.
